Sin! How To Avoid It

We are only human and get tempted very often, so do not feel guilty. Do not feel like a failure. But most important of all, try your best to never give in. These are ways to avoid temptation. Be mindful that Lord Jesus Christ himself was tempted so he knows how we feel.

The more you believe in Christ, the more pressure Satan will put on you to sin, and it's not a simple coincidence. We need to detect an attack when it arrives. And Satan has many devices. He may use your past, pent-up anxieties of the future, or anything that will purge your feelings of worthiness and make you flunk in your relationship with Christ. For the truth is, Satan wants your soul. Back to living the ways of the world and not living the way Jesus wants us to. And if he succeeds in trapping and pulling you further from God, you would not find spiritual happiness.

Fortunately, because God has authority on Satan, He prepared us three tools to avoid sin.

- Bible/The Word Of God(Divine Truth)
- Prayer
- The Holy Spirit

The three tools mentioned above are connected is such ways.
- To strengthen the Holy Spirit within you, read the Word of God.
- Prayer also helps, pray that the Lord will give you strength to avoid sin.

Take note: Dealing and avoiding sin is totally different as mentioned by Pastor Koshy. It's better to avoid sin rather than deal with it. Satan is an evil kid fishing for souls in equivalent to fishes, he sets up a bait(temptation) and you see it. Get it, if a fish deals with the bait, he will get caught but a fish that stays away will survive. With the holy spirit warning us of Satan's bait, we can just escape and shrug it off.

How to avoid sin...

1.Avoid situations that may lead you to making a sinful act. This may mean the type of people you hang out with(friends who smoke, have boyfriends/girlfriends or friends with foul language), or the things you're interested in. Pray silently if you cannot.

2.Turn your back on sins from the past. Don't live as if it happened, live as if it did not. Once you ask for forgiveness, God then completely forgets about it. Yes, forgets as if you never sinned in the first place! So act like Him, He's forgotten and that's all that matters, so why don't you? Otherwise it has a hold on you. {and ignore Satan's voice saying "no he hasn't...are you sure...") Yes, God has forgotten your previous sins. The Word never lies because it's the DIVINE TRUTH.

3
Remember that we need to trust God even when being tempted; Resist the Devil, and he shall flee from you. He will retreat. He's afraid of us because we have God on our side. We're like small remora fish hanging on the back of a shark and fishes that are bigger than remora but smaller than sharks don't eat the remora.

I'm not sure if the words are too small to read. Sorry.

4.Remember what Jesus has done, that His blood is the only thing that can cleanse away our sins. In turn, the blood of the Lord will also cleanse our minds.

5. Strengthen your faith. Make sure the magnitude of your faith expands day by day. It is true as I've mentioned above the more we believe in Christ, the more Satan will push us. But if our faith hits a dead end, we get attacked by Satan and fail to rise, resulting our downfall of faith.

6. If you're in trouble, ask for help. When facing temptation. Whisper to yourself "Lord help me" or anything similar to that. If the situation gets tense, we can yell out "In Jesus Name". The Lord's name is extremely powerful, powerful enough to remove any emotion, thought or sickness. But be sure you speak his name only when you want to avoid sin. The Lord probably won't help you if you say something like "In Jesus name, I will deal with the sin".

One more thing. If you do give into temptation, do not sulk or weep. Pray for forgiveness, get back on your feet and continue walking with Jesus. When God forgives you, he completely forgets about your sins. Dwelling on old sins which God has forgiven will only make Satan's influence over you stronger. Be forgiven and move on.

Thank you...
