His Generation > Jesus's Generation

Here are some verses that i can relate to His Generation...it gives you the meaning what is the purpose of His Generation as in Jesus Generation, and what does it means...

We are the Chosen Generation
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (1st Peter 2:9 - 10)

We need to Arise Shine!
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1 - 2)

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb” !(Revelation 7:9 - 10 )

You guys remember the He Intends...S
Well last week, Sis. Rebecca went a little more detail into He Intends Service...Again, most people think service is only done when we become missionaries or pastors, but service is not that...Service can be done no matter who you are or even where you are...We as children of God can offer service in any way possible...service can be as simple as listening, talking or even just giving a word of encouragement...remember also that, we should not expect anything in return when service is done...and service does not means that it would be easy...Service may be difficult and we might not like it...but i can tell you this, nothing is much more satisfying when someone you had offered your service to, end up with a brand new life, a life that is better and a life of peace...Service can also leads you to evangelise with people... Thats about it i think...for more details on this, you can click on the > He Intends Service :) well besides sharing, Sis. Rebecca also showed us 2 video clips about service...can get it to post in this blog...

Anyway, thats a bout it for last week...This coming Friday, Ps. Koshy will be back... :)

Does God Heals Today?

Here is an message that i came across from here...its been written by Robert Kolar and it really shows God as a healer of all sickness and all problems...Do read it up and let it sink into our hearts as it reminds us that He is our healer and may we "believe that He is our Healer"....

I've heard people say "It's God's will" or "I'll just leave it up to God" when faced with a serious illness or tragedy. Don't fall into that trap. God wants us to pray to him for help. In Luke 18:1 Jesus told his disciples that they "should always pray and not give up." and then Jesus asked "...will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?" Pray to God from your heart for healing. Don't stop. Don't give up. God wants us to ask him for help. He loves us.

Over 20 percent of the Gospel is about the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught his disciples how to pray and heal. He sent them to carry on his work. Wouldn't Jesus want his followers to pray for healing today?

Many spiritual writers have defined the call of healing so narrowly that some people feel they don't qualify. But today a new awakening in faith has made us realize we are not only called into healing for ourselves, but also in various degrees into healing each other.

The Bible actually gives us some directions on how to pray for healing. For example, in James 5:14-15 we are told: "Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15) And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven." and in James 5:16 we are asked to "confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." and then told that "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." In Mark 11:23-25 Jesus further instructs to forgive when we pray "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, `Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24) Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25) And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

Only someone facing or sharing a serious sickness, pain or tragedy knows how hard it is. They know how hard it is to cope with the fear and uncertainty. They know how absurd it sounds when someone first tells them to "keep a positive attitude". They know how terrifying it is when the doubt comes. They know how hard it is to throw a mountain into the sea. But remember what Jesus told us in Matthew 17:19-20 when he said "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Faith as small as a mustard seed sounds a little like hope to me, and that's a good start.

Well i hope this message could inspire or help any of you who are now going through any sickness or mental/physical problems...may He the almighty heals you... :)

PASTOR KOSHY 20 YEARS AGO ???

edited by : Andy Chong

HiS G3NeRaTiOn 18th JuLy 2008

This week,we got willert again to lead us in praise and worship, great job willert :D the songs were The Time Has Come,Mighty To Save,Hosanna and Treasure.Thank You again to the musicians who played that day.

All right, this week pastor gave an introduction about the DNA program.
What Does DNA Stands For ???
haha,we are not talking about the our DNA in our genes...
We are talking about Jesus's DNA which means we are gonna study every part of jesus's life on earth...

D stands for Devine Truth
refer to (John 14:6 , John 1:1 , Hebrews 1:1-2)
Jesus is the Devine Truth, every part of his life is Good, every decision he made is right,Jesus does not have a 2 side personallity like jekyll and hyde did.

N stands for Nurturing Relationships
refer to (John 15:12-14 , 1 John 4:8-9)
Jesus embodies Nurturing Relationships,Jesus commanded us to love each other the way he loves us and the way to measure it is the willingness to die for someone.Jesus also stated that anyone who does not love does not know God,for God is LOVE.God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

A stands for Apostolic Misson
refer to (John 3:16,1:14 , 1 John 4:9-11 , John 20:21 , Hebrews 3:1)
Jesus Models Apostolic Missions,Jesus always had a direction,he was sure of who his father is which is God.He understands why he is sent to earth and that is to spread the gospel, heal the sick and to die for our sins.

that's all for the sermon part :D

and last but not least,we celebrated pastor koshy's and sister kuria's BIRTHDAY !!!

...But the greatest of these is Love...

I got this from a website and it really did open up my eyes...As love is a word that we usually use but most of us don't know the true meaning of it...especially living our lifes as the 'light' of the world...

Christian Love - Christ's Commandment

What's at the heart of Christian love? Jesus said, "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35). John, inspired by the Holy Spirit, once wrote, "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death" (1 John 3:14). And "by this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome" (1 John 5:2-3).

Christian Love - Not a Feeling, a Lifestyle

So, what do these scriptures regarding "Christian love" really mean? Is it a warm fuzzy feeling? I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling for everyone I meet, Christian or otherwise -- does that mean I'm not saved? No, a "warm fuzzy feeling" is not the biblical definition for "love". So, what is the Biblical definition for love? Let's search the Scriptures and find out…

A Pharisaic lawyer once asked our Lord, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 22:36-40)

According to Matthew's Gospel, the very essence of the Law and the Prophets is to love God and to love others. And we see this term "the Law and the Prophets" used in one other place in Matthew's Gospel. It's in this passage that we find the Biblical definition for love: "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 7:12)

Would you want your wife to commit adultery? Would you want someone to murder you or to murder someone you love? Would you want someone to steal from you, lie to you, covet your possessions? Of course not! So don't go and do these things to other people! Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, commands us to "owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, 'You shall not commit adultery,' 'You shall not murder,' 'You shall not steal,' 'You shall not bear false witness,' 'You shall not covet,' and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." (Romans 13:8-10)

In Luke's Gospel, Jesus elaborates on this "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" principle. He says, "Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful." (Luke 6:30-36)

Christian Love - Selfless & Giving Love

Christian love is giving to others those things that you would want them to give you if you were in their situation -- and it's doing so even if they can't pay you back. In fact, it's doing so especially if they can't pay you back! Christian love is respect for others. It's mercy. It's charity. When the King James translators came upon the Greek word agape (God's Love), in addition to using the English word "love" to transliterate it, they often chose the English word "charity." This was meant to reinforce the idea that agape is a selfless, giving love. God's Love is unselfish and unconditional. Now we know what is meant by Christian love. Now we know what to strive for…

So, as response to this, here is one of the most 'famous' bible verses of LOVE...a verse that we should all remember and meditate on, so that it would not just be in our knowledge but also sink into our very hearts...

1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

What the Bible says about "being good" (does God view it as a necessary step to get to heaven?)

I came across this article about "What the Bible says about "being good" (does God view it as a necessary step to get to heaven?)" and it is very true...It is important that we know that it is not by the works that we do but by grace that will save us....

Romans 3:10
As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one."

James 2:10
"Whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. "

Isaiah 64:6
"All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;"

Titus 3:5
He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit."

Romans 11:6
And if (we are saved) by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Galatians 2:21
"I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain!"

I grew up with the notion that you had to be "good" to get to heaven. The bible teaches us that no matter how "bad" you have been, you are still able to get to heaven simply by trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Some denominations would have you believe that you also have to do good works (go to church every Sunday, give money, etc.) to be saved. The scriptures quoted above clearly show these "works" doctrines to be false.

You may ask, "Where do these other ideas come from then?" The primary root of this misconception comes from the book of James, where it is written "What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."(James 2:15-17).

When trying to discern what is meant in a particular passage, a time honored method employed is to "interpret scripture with scripture," meaning that you should take unclear passages and interpret them using clear passages. Because the bible tells us that "all scripture is God-breathed," we know that other bible passages are not going to be wrong, unlike what could happen if you introduce an outside source of information such as the proclamation of one man, a group of bishops, etc. Therefore, the passage in James, when viewed in light of the other passages shown, is really telling us that works are an outward evidence of your faith, not something required in addition to your complete faith in Christ. Remember, salvation (eternal life in heaven) is a free gift. The following illustration may help if you are still in doubt:

Suppose it was Christmas morning, and your spouse leads you out the door, and shows you a shiny new Mercedes Benz with a big bow on the hood. Then your spouse says, "Here's that Mercedes you have always dreamed of having. It's my gift to you, but only if you give me a dollar." What kind of gift is that? It is no longer a gift, you had to earn it by coughing up a dollar! Similarly, every clear passage in scripture tells us that eternal life is a free gift to those who believe in Jesus and Him alone for their salvation.

I know I've beaten this issue pretty hard, but if you've come so far as to believe that Jesus was born, died, and resurrected and sits at the right hand of the Father, it would be one of life's greatest tragedies for you to not go the extra mile and believe in him and him alone for your salvation.

this article is copied from Christian Corner

I hope that this will really help us to think back on what salvation really is... :)
