Sharing time!

Aha, what's so special about this?! Ha ha..
Of course it's special! We hardly have our sharing time together and these was the time we share..

The rules of the sharing are pretty strict!
Haha June said each of us must share at least one thing about anything! Yourself or anything you feel like sharing! Hehehe, strict but yet not strict.. :P

Personally I think it's a good idea to do sharing.. All of us had fun fellowship time together! It strengthen our bond to each other, knowing each other more and of course with LORD! We able to see miracles done in our life.

Picture of the Week

The Three Stooges: KT Version

HG Update: Chronicles of the Lazy PART II

Today we did something unique. It was announcements and the message first, then only worship and praise.

Today we continue to see on what the book of proverbs have to say on the lazy man and the industrious man.

Proverbs 12:27
Lazy people don't even cook the game they catch, but the diligent make use of anything they find.

Those who are diligent will look after their possessions and make the most of them. Unlike the lazy who chucks their things everywhere. Oh man I gotta clean up my room. As well as make the most of what he has, a diligent man is also willing to preserve and prolong the use of his possessions. Examples include wiping your CD's after listening to them, exercise so you don't get health problems, keep your Nike shoes where your dogs can't reach etc.

Proverbs 21:5
The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty. But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.

God gives assurance to the diligent that their plans will one day lead to success regardless of the time span. On the other hand, the plans of the lazy will lead to failure. This is because their plans are either of crime or gambling. That's why many people go for the loan sharks and make a mess. That's why almost no Mafia Godfather has died without being shot or not in jail. The Lord is a just and incorruptible judge.

Proverbs 12:24
The hand of the diligent will rule. But the lazy man will be put to force labor.

Look at all the MPKT guys sweeping up. You can tell by the way a man talks, dresses, eats if he's diligent or not. I know many political leaders are corrupted, but they stand out because they're diligent. They have to think a lot on every single issue. Examples include which country to send troops? How much to spend on education or welfare? How much will the next increase of petroleum price be? All these will add up to stress and insomnia.

Proverbs 22:29
Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his dealings? He will stand before kings, he will not stand before obscure men.

If we are to gain headline-busting success and get a Datukship or Tan Sri, we are to work hard, I mean VERY HARD. Our Malaysian pioneers like Datuk Jimmy Choo, Datuk Nicol David among others had to make decisions, sacrifice money and time to make ends meet. As a reward, they meet the Prime Minister and King and stand as the country's finest. The same goes to us students, If we work hard, we can stand before the headmaster and receive a certificate. If we don't, we will end up shaking hands with disciplinary teachers like Cikgu Maslow.

HG Update: Julia Returns

Today the worship leader was Ee June. Although we were without a drummer, we just do without it. The songs we sang were "Lord Of Lords", "To Know Your Name", "Open The Eyes Of My Heart".

Julia Ma returned after more than a year. Those good old days. During her time away from good-old-Malaysia, she went to train for music in ministry. 3 weeks of intensive training in Perth, Australia and 3 weeks of field work in Jakarta.

It seems that she's experienced something very very different from our quiet town of Kuala Terengganu. There, she has to adapt with different cultures not to mention speak proper English...LOL...

Julia met a few notable faces of the Christian music industry(not Hillsong) as well as hard training. Her team were also required to preach out in the streets. Boy Golly! What a faith. To preach about Jesus risking being laughed at, spat on, having people show you the middle finger and the possibility of people throwing stuff at you. Just because Hillsong United and Planetshakers are from Australia, doesn't mean it is more "Christian". Just like what Pastor says, Malaysia is more safe than the "Christian countries"

Off to Jakarta, she had to visit the needy people in the slums near the train tracks. People living under cardboard roofs without enough to eat, without education, without money and most importantly WITHOUT JESUS. She also prayed to a blind man who accepted The Lord and started praying in tongues. WOW! Now that's the reward of faith.

Jakarta is also quite an open society. There are ocassions where Julia and her team saw a guy playing gospels in a bus and having her music team rap, sing and even SCREAM at churches and cafes alike.

But unfortunately myself, Willert, Choon Khai and Michelle had to leave early for some Annual Dinner so we didn;t have the chance to sit down for some roti canai and chat. We hope to see you soon Julia, next time bring your brothers too...

Proverbs: Chronicles of the Lazy

Today has in my opinion one of the most insightful topics ever brought up by Pastor Koshy. Also another one of those "hard-to-swallow" topics, it deals with the Lord's displeasure in those who are lazy. I mean, who would've thought laziness is a sin. I've always thought of it as an uneasy habit. That's all.

But the book of Proverbs explores many of God's core commandments. Adultery, commitment, discipline to name a few. I guess laziness takes the cake for being the strangest so far.

The characteristic and aspects of a lazy man and his life are as follows.

Proverbs 6:6-11
Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider it's ways and be wise! It has no commander, overseer or ruler. Yet it stores it's provisions in summer and gathers it's food at harvest.

Although an ant can be a pain in the butt with their bites, stings and foul stench. They are the prime example of of diligence. They don't abandon fallen comrades, they don't give up, they'll find new ways to solve their problems. They are also not as fussy as us. Tehy'll eat everything from bugs to sugar, dung to potato chips. They'll even form a raft with their own bodies to cross rivers for new territories.

Proverbs 10:26
As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy man to those who send him.
You'll fins it hard if you ask a couch potato to do a job. You'll end up with an imperfect job or worse, nothing at all. A lazy man is a troublemaker and burdens not benefits. Which is similar to sin.

Proverbs 22:13
The lazy man says "There is a lion outside, I shall be slain the streets"
A lazy man is good for nothing. Yet he has one talent, making excuses. Not necessarily lousy excuses. Some people are really good at it.

Proverbs 24:30-31
I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgement. Thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with reeds and the stone wall was in ruins.
A lazy man lacks judgement and his life is poorly maintained and everything is a big mess. The fruits of his garden are sour if there are any due to lack of watering or fertiliser.

That's all folks...
